USA Decides Not To Fly Several F-35 Fighters After Accident On The Texas Runway!

The U.S. military has grounded some F-35 fighter jets after a crash forced a pilot to eject from the Marine Corps version of the aircraft earlier this month in Texas.    An unspecified number of planes are being investigated as part of a Time Compliance Technical Directive (TCTD), issued by the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) on Tuesday, an official from the office confirmed to The Hill Thursday. The directive recommended “restrictions on a small number of aircraft, which have been evaluated to be of higher risk, from flight operations and…

What’s Happening at CESSNA 172s and What Should We Know About It?

Just about any pilot can tell you about the time they’ve had their first taste of flying. In all likelihood, that first flight might have been in a Cessna 172. The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is a steady workhorse, a top choice for many flight schools, and an amazingly reliable aircraft. It doesn’t use up a lot of fuel, it’s relatively inexpensive to operate, and it’s surprisingly easy to fly. Given all these, on top of its longevity and storied history, many consider the Cessna 172 to be the king of light aircraft.…

Cause Unknown, Four Airbus A340s ‘Disappeared’ Over Iran and Nobody Knows Where

Flight tracking platforms drew public attention this Friday (23) to the flights of four Airbus A340s which took off from Johannesburg/OR Tambo (JNB) in South Africa, in a possible transfer of aircraft to Iran. According to our partner media Aeroin, if confirmed the move could be classified as an evasion of U.S. sanctions. As reported by Twitter profile @Gerjon_, known for monitoring unusual movements on tracking tools and satellite photos, the four aircraft were previously owned by Turkish Airlines, but were retired in early 2019 and returned to its Hong…

Bird Strikes Voe Pass ATR 72 Aircraft in Sao Paulo!

A VoePass ATR-72 collided with a large predator bird on landing at Sao Paulo-Congonhas, resulting in damage to the radome. On Thursday, a Voepass Linhas Aereas (2Z) ATR 72-500 collided with a large predator bird while landing at Sao Paulo Congonhas Airport (CGH) in Brazil. The footage of the incident shows the aircraft suffered some damage due to the bird strike. The ATR-72 with registration PP-PTN was involved in the incident and as seen in footage shared on the internet, the bird that hit the plane remained in the radome part. 2008 built VoePass Linhas Aereas…

Here Is The Family That Travels The World With Their Own Single Engine Aircraft!

They have all given up their jobs to go on the adventure which is set to cost them between $200k and $300k.  A family-of-five is on a 14-month round-the-world holiday flying their own single-engine plane. The Porter family took off in June and has already traveled to the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, US Virgin Islands, and Argentina.  Dad Ian, 59, a real estate developer, mum Michelle, 58, and kids, Samantha, 21, Sydney, 18, and Christopher, 15, traveled 15,000 nautical miles, stopping off in 12 countries. On the Rise After Pandemic: Boeing Delivered Almost Exactly 50 Commercial Airplanes Last Month

However, numbers are still lagging compared to September. After a dip in October, Boeing’s delivery numbers are trending upward again. In November, the aerospace giant delivered 50 jets to customers around the world, up from 35 the month before. New airplane orders fell, however, coming in at 18 737 MAX’s and three 767s. Of course, that number will increase multiple times when December figures are in, given United Airlines pre-Christmas aircraft shopping spree. After a 15-month stop to Dreamliner deliveries lifted in August, the manufacturer handed over a total of 51 planes…

SpaceX Raptor Rocket Engine Explodes Unexpectedly During Testing

During a recent test, a SpaceX Raptor engine blasted, joining a series of blasts at the space company’s facility. The explosion emitted a green flash, as NASASpaceFlight explains in a video, which happens when “the engine has started to eat into its copper sections.”   In the spaceflight world, it is known as RUD or a “rapid unscheduled disassembly.” Such explosions are pretty common for Elon Musk’s space company as it ejects material at the proverbial wall and checks what sticks, or explodes like in this case. Not The First…

In addition, the air carriers will deliver the RAT kits to the passengers. AACM urges passengers to pay attention to the…

Officially Approved!.. Funding Officially Approved for Hybrid Electric Geared Turbofan

A group of aerospace technology companies has announced the formation of a collaborative consortium to develop hybrid-electric and water-enhanced turbofan technology for future aircraft propulsion systems, supported by the European Union Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking (Clean Aviation). MTU Aero Engines AG, Pratt & Whitney, Collins Aerospace, GKN Aerospace, Airbus and others aim to demonstrate the potential of these technologies to improve fuel efficiency and reduce aircraft emissions, with a goal of achieving up to 25% improvement in fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions compared to today’s state-of-the-art propulsion systems for…

Rear & Wing Mounted Engines: What are the Advantages and Disadvantages?

It is rare to find rear-mounted engines in commercial aircraft these days. It’s rare to find rear-mounted engines on commercial airplanes these days. In general, all modern aircraft have wing-mounted engines. However, rear-mounted engines are still fairly common in corporate aircraft. Both of these engine configurations have advantages and disadvantages. We will now examine these advantages and disadvantages.
